The Influence of Work Motivation and Workload on Counterproductive Work Behavior (CWB) of Indonesian National Police Members at the Pontianak City Police Department, West Kalimantan

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of Work Motivation and Workload on Counterproductive Work Behavior (CWB) of Indonesian National Police members at the Pontianak City Police Department, West Kalimantan. This study employs a quantitative approach with an associative design. The research sample consists of 83 respondents selected using proportionate stratified random sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using multiple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS through validity and reliability tests, classical assumption tests, as well as hypothesis testing using t-test and F-test. The results show that all instruments are valid and reliable, and the data meet the assumptions of normality, linearity, and absence of multicollinearity. Partially, Work Motivation has a negative and significant effect on Counterproductive Work Behavior. Workload has a positive and significant effect on Counterproductive Work Behavior. Simultaneously, both variables have a significant effect, with an F-count value of 35.731 and significance 0.000. The correlation coefficient value of 0.687 indicates a strong relationship, while the coefficient of determination (R²) value of 0.472 indicates that 47.2% of the variation in Counterproductive Work Behavior can be explained by Work Motivation and Workload, while the remaining variation is influenced by factors outside this study.
